The Story of The Big Tap
If you’re a fan of optical illusions, you need to see the Big Tap in Cowes, Victoria. Sitting atop the entrance to A Maze’N Things, this oversized purple tap appears to be floating while pumping litres of water into the room below it.
If you look closely through the windows of the room, you’ll also notice furniture floating, filled with water. But the best part of it all is the floating furniture and water aren’t even real!
This excellent optical illusion gives you a hint of what to expect when you take a trip to see the oversized tap and have fun at A Maze’N Things.
The facility features a host of exciting activities, especially for lovers of optical illusions. The venue is also ideal for fun birthday parties, school trips, family events, etc. The Big Tap aside, you’ll love the magic manor, puzzle island, maxi mini-golf, sky trail, maze, and so much more!
While in Cowes, don’t forget to check out The Big Koala, located next to Rusty Water Brewery and Restaurant on Phillip Island Road.
It’s important to note that Cowes is a township on Phillip Island. The island itself is home to several other iconic Big Things of Australia you’ll love seeing.
For example, the Big Cows in Newhaven, Phillip Island, is the place to be if you love chocolates. The sculptures of two cows stand outside the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory, welcoming visitors to the premises.
The chocolate factory hosts several fun-filled, family-friendly activities; you’ll enjoy taking a tour of the famous chocolate village, learning more about chocolate processing machines, and taking pictures of the chocolate statue of David and the world’s largest chocolate waterfall.
There’s also a retail shop at the factory that sells different chocolate-themed products worth checking out.
