The Story of The Big Ugg Boots
The Big Ugg Boots can be found at the Mortels Sheepskin Factory in Thornton, a suburb in Maitland, the Hunter Region of New South Wales.
The enormous boots are 13 times bigger than the normal American size eight ugg boots, each weighing 600 kilograms. The Big Ugg Boots were unveiled at the site on April 20, 2015.
The day after the unveiling, a raging storm, similar to a category two cyclone, appeared in the area. However, the pair of Big Ugg Boots, made of steel and fibreglass, remained intact despite the harsh welcome from mother nature.
The Big Ugg Boots are not only a tourist attraction; they are also the world’s biggest ugg boots. These giant boots are always conspicuous when you visit the Sheepskin factory for shopping, a guided tour of the factory, or a photo op with the gigantic boots.
The Big Ugg Boots was originally painted with the usual brown colour but has since been repainted numerous times to match specific themes. The different shades of the Big Ugg Boots have been documented on their social media platforms, such as Facebook.
Mortels Sheepskin Factory is notably the oldest operating ugg boots factory in the world. During the guided tours, the visitors also learn about the history of the sheepskin industry archived in The Sheep’s Back Museum. Typically, a beautiful day visiting the factory ends with a nice meal at the factory’s cafe and shopping from the Gift Gallery.
